Import your recordings from Dropbox

Bring audio and video from Dropbox into a new episode or Studio, without downloading the file and uploading it again

Dropbox

If your recording is already in Dropbox, you can bring it directly into PodcastAI. There’s no need to save a copy to your computer first, then upload the same file again.

Dropbox import is available in two places: + New Episode and Studio. Use it to start an episode from a finished recording or to bring content into Studio for editing.

Start Where You’re Working

For a new episode, choose + New Episode and select Dropbox in the upload window.

In Studio, open the upload controls and choose Dropbox as the source. You can bring in content while working on your edit without leaving Studio to download it first.

Choose Your Recording

If Dropbox isn’t connected yet, follow the connection steps. Once connected, choose the folder containing your recording.

The import window shows the current folder and the available audio and video files, with a filename and size for each. Choose Import beside the recording you want.

Use Change Folder if your file is somewhere else. The list shows files in the selected folder, so choose the folder containing the recording rather than a parent folder above it. If you’ve just added a file in Dropbox, use Refresh to update the list.

Carry On in PodcastAI

PodcastAI transfers the recording directly from Dropbox and shows the import’s progress. Once the transfer has started, you can close the page while it continues.

When the recording is ready, continue working in the episode or Studio where you started. Importing brings the file into your workflow; you still decide when the finished episode is ready to publish.
