Ieasha Prime

Ieasha Prime is a well-respected Islamic scholar, educator, and community leader known for her dynamic approach to Islamic education and her efforts in empowering Muslim women. Based in the United States, she has become a prominent voice in the American Muslim community, advocating for the spiritual and social development of Muslims, particularly women and youth. Ieasha Prime began her journey into Islamic scholarship after converting to Islam during her teenage years. She pursued her Islamic studies both domestically and abroad. She studied at the Fajr Institute in Cairo, Egypt, and at the renowned Dar Al-Zahra in Tarim, Yemen. Her studies included Quranic exegesis (Tafsir), Islamic jurisprudence (Fiqh), and Islamic spirituality (Tasawwuf), which provided her with a deep and well-rounded understanding of Islamic sciences. In addition to her traditional Islamic education, Ieasha Prime holds a degree in International Development with a focus on Education and Community Development, further equipping her to address the unique challenges faced by Muslims in the West. Her academic and religious training has made her a sought-after speaker and educator. Ieasha Prime is currently the Director of Women’s Programming at Dar al-Hijrah Islamic Center in Virginia, one of the largest and most active Islamic centers in the United States. In this role, she leads various educational and community initiatives aimed at empowering women, promoting Islamic knowledge, and fostering a strong sense of community. She is also involved in interfaith dialogue, working to build bridges of understanding between Muslims and people of other faiths. In addition to her role at Dar al-Hijrah, Ieasha Prime is a national and international speaker, regularly addressing conferences, workshops, and community events. She is known for her engaging and relatable teaching style, which makes Islamic knowledge accessible to a wide audience. Her lectures often focus on topics such as spirituality, women’s issues in Islam, and the challenges of practicing Islam in a modern context. Ieasha Prime is also the founder of the online platform “Sisters Preparing for Ramadan” and a co-founder of the “Not Without My Hijab” movement, both of which are initiatives aimed at supporting Muslim women in their religious and personal lives. Her work continues to inspire and educate Muslims across the globe, particularly women who seek to deepen their understanding of Islam while navigating the complexities of modern life.
