If there’s one person who knows how to get to the heart of a conversation, it’s Oprah Winfrey. And that would be enough for me to say yes to this show.

But if you’re looking for a podcast that’s not just engaging, but will actually change your life, The Oprah Podcast is exactly what you need.

This is not just another celebrity interview-style podcast talking about their latest project, their successes or their love life.

Oprah can do better than that... She talks to leaders, practitioners, celebrities and ordinary people, and whoever has an incredible story to share; she's always asking what it means to be human, what drives them, what keeps them going and how they become a better self, teaching listeners at the same time how they can live more meaningful lives.

Have you heard Oprah talking before? You know when she says something, and all of a sudden it's like she's talking to your soul? That’s what this podcast feels, like a constant series of those moments, or when you get intimate with someone you know you can trust.

Why You Should Listen

This is not a program you half-listen to as you scroll through your phone. The Oprah Podcast brings you up short and actually makes you think.

It's all about real talk: about life, happiness, love, purpose and resilience. Oprah has this gift of getting people to open up in ways they probably didn't even see coming themselves.

One minute you're nodding along, and the next you're wondering everything about how you're showing up in your own life.

She books guests like Brené Brown, Michelle Obama, Eckhart Tolle, Viola Davis (the kind of guests who don't just talk but actually teach you something).

And the thing is, it's not just name-dropping celebrities that you’ll hear in this show. Some of the most tear-inducing moments are people whose names you may not know, but whose stories will remain with you until the episode itself is finished.

This podcast is a hug for your brain and soul. You'll sob with one gentle episode, you'll get an "aha" moment about something in your own life with another, and with another you'll just feel absolutely heard and understood.

What to expect from this show

Each episode is a plunge into something that counts. No filler. No small talk. Just substantial conversations that stick with you.

One week, it's about beating fear. The next one is about the strength of forgiveness. Then, the next thing you know, you're hearing a story about a person who used their pain and made it about purpose, and you can't shake it out of your mind for days.

There's always something to learn from, either a change of mind, a revelation, or simply an enormous anecdote that reminds you how similar we are.

And Oprah herself? Warm, measured, and wonderfully human. She doesn't just interview, she truly listens. She lets people relax, and through letting them feel at ease, she prompts these extraordinary, almost spiritual bursts of insight.

Episodes That Hit Different

There are some episodes that just stick with you more than others, but seriously, it's hard to have favorites.

Every episode is something different, and it just depends on where you are in life when you listen to it.

Sometimes an episode you listened to months ago will resonate completely differently when you come back to it.

But this is a review that includes a section about my favorite episodes, so let’s pick those I really loved:

  1. Dec 31, 2024: Do You Sometimes Feel Lonely? - S1 E5 • 42 mins

  2. Feb 11, 2025: The 3 Things EVERY Human Wants - S1 E11 • 52 mins

  3. Feb 4, 2025:  Healing Your Childhood Trauma - S1 E10 • 60 mins

When to Listen

New episodes come out every Tuesday,

Who’s Oprah?

I mean, come on. It's Oprah. She's not just a talk show legend, she's a narrator, a leader, someone who spent decades hosting the world's most brilliant thinkers and reporting back to us on what she'd learned.

Oprah Winfrey is a media mogul, talk show legend, best-selling author, and philanthropist who influenced entire generations.

She hosted The Oprah Winfrey Show, the television's highest-rated talk show of all time.

Beyond television, Oprah has built a media empire that includes OWN (Oprah Winfrey Network), O, The Oprah Magazine, and a highly successful book club. She is also a best-selling author.

As we previously said, she's a dedicated philanthropist who supported education, leadership programs, and humanitarian causes worldwide.

Whatever it was, the Oprah Winfrey Show, the book club, this podcast, she's always been about  making people's lives better, truer.

She has the skill to pose the right question, the one that takes her guests aback and really makes them pause and think thoroughly before they answer. And that is when the magic happens.

I really wish one day I could sit down with her and just have a good, thoughtful conversation… but as I guess that won’t happen, this podcast is the next best thing.
